It all started with a hustle double by Brock 'Babe' Holt. Then, the deluge. Boston ended up scoring the most runs in any one inning all year (seven) on their way to a 9-4 rout of the Houston Astros. Allen Webster was the beneficiary of the offensive largesse, getting his third win of the year on a 'so-so' six-inning performance (four earned runs). The explosive sixth inning included RBIs by David Ortiz, Mike Napoli, Will Middlebrooks, Jackie Bradley, Jr., Christian Vazquez and two by Dustin Pedroia. Boston has now won five of their last six—and have pulled to within 10 games of .500. More importantly, they have reduced the Valentine Magic Number to 15 with 42 games left to play.
