FenwayNation Co-Players Of The Month For July |
Although he departed Fenway on the final day of July,
Jon Lester was named the
FenwayNation July Co-Player Of The Month—sharing the honor with
Daniel Nava. Lester's July numbers were absolutely remarkable. In four starts, he was 1-0 with a 0.93 ERA. In 29.0 innings pitched, he gave up just 22 hits and
three earned runs. His WHIP in July was an astonishing 0.86. Lester struck out 34 batters in the month and walked just 3. Opposing batters hit just .202 off Lester. Co-winner Nava played in 20 games during July—
hitting .349 over the month. Nava reached base at a .400 clip, collecting 22 hits and five walks. He finished the month with a .787 OPS. Congratulations to both players for an outstanding month of July. And best of luck to Jon Lester in Oakland!
