Christopher Acosta |
On
International Signing Day, the Red Sox inked 16-year old Dominican right-hander
Christopher Acosta
to a $1.5 million deal. Acosta was considered by many scouts to be the
best pitcher on the international market—and was ranked as the #6
overall international prospect by MLB.com. Acosta's fastball has been
clocked between 88 and 92 MPH—but it's his
change-up that is the
difference-maker in his repertoire. The 6'3", 170-pounder is based in La
Vega, Dominican Republic.
