MLB Owners Approve Funding For 2014 Replay

Major League Baseball owners voted today to fund the mechanism that will result in dramatically expanded replay in 2014. Essentially, everything but balls and strikes is subject to a manager's challenge (probably two per game) that must be expressed verbally (so John Farrell doesn't have to pull out a stupid red hanky from his pants). As in the NFL, if a manager wins the challenge, he keeps it for possible later use. Interestingly, fans will be allowed to see the replay in the stadium as the arbiters (probably former umps) rule on the challenge back in New York. Fasten your seat belts, folks, 2014 will be a hell of a ride!
