Jacoby Ellsbury Fought Trip To Boston For MRI

For all the Jacoby Ellsbury naysayers out there, this news is not going to fit their "too soft" narrative. According to manager John Farrell, Ellsbury fought the team decision to send him back to Boston for an MRI on his injured foot. Said Farrell, "I will say this – Jake’s frustrated and he wants to be on the field. He feels like he can play right now. But at the direction of the medical people, it’s like, we’ve got to be careful of this. I can tell you this – Jacoby wants to be on the field. He’s kind of pissed he’s not here right now to be honest with you." Ellsbury has actually played well since he suffered the injury on August 28th, so there is some hope that a few weeks of rest might make him available for the post-season. We just don't have enough information yet.
