Jerry Remy's Son Pleads Not Guilty To Murder

Jared Remy
Jared Remy, son of Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, pleaded not guilty to murder charges today at an arraignment in Waltham, Massachusetts. Remy was arrested at the scene of the homicide—an apartment he shared with the 27-year old murder victim, Jennifer Martel. Remy and Martel have a 4-year old daughter, who was apparently in the apartment at the time of the murder. The Red Sox issued the following statement on behalf of NESN: "This morning, we learned of a terrible tragedy. All of us at NESN and the Red Sox, along with Jerry Remy, are filled with grief for everyone involved, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Jennifer Martel." In 2005, Jared Remy was charged with assault and battery in an incident with Martel.
