Sox Fundamentally Unsound; Fall To NYY, 10-3

This one was over almost as soon as it started. Felix Doubront simply didn't have it in one of his most important starts of the year—against a Yankee team he has handcuffed historically. When he left the game after four, The Evil Ones had put up seven runs—on the way to a 10-3 drubbing. Boston could never generate a sustained offensive push—running the bases poorly and failing to get big hits in key situations. On top of all that, they made three bad errors. The Fraudulent One was dutifully razzed and booed—but not into submission. Rodriguez went 2 for 4 and made two dazzling plays in the field. This one was forgettable, folks—except for the fact that Tampa Bay pulled off a dramatic comeback win to pull within a single game of the Carmine Hose for the AL East lead.
