Is Bogaerts 'Most Dangerous Hitter' In Minors?

That headline isn't us talking—it's Baseball America. After a ridiculously hot week, top Red Sox prospect Xander Bogaerts is #1 on the respected website's 'Prospect Hot Sheet'. The 20-year old Aruban is already ranked as the #8 prospect in all of baseball—and could be climbing the ladder even further before the year is out. On top of his amazing offensive numbers, his defensive skills at shortstop have dramatically improved as well. Ideally, Boston could shift Bogaerts to third or the outfield once he completely fills out his 6'3" frame. In 50 games so far at AA Portland, Bogaerts is hitting .305 with 6 HRs and 32 RBIs. His OBP is .400 and he has stolen 15 bases already. One can envision a 2015 team with Bogaerts at 3B, Jose Iglesias at SS, Will Middlebrooks at 1B and Jackie Bradley, Jr. in CF. And don't forget the impressive organizational depth at catcher and starting pitcher. Plus, the Carmine Hose will pick seventh overall tonight in the MLB Draft. The future is very bright, my friends.
