David Ortiz continued his torrid return to the Red Sox with a 3-for-4 night—including his first 2013 HR—as the Red Sox had their way with the sad Astros, 7-2. Clay Buchholz became the first 5-game winner in baseball with 7 2/3 serviceable innings—after all, his ERA shot up from 0.90 to 1.19! Oritz and Dustin Pedroia knocked in single runs in the first inning off former perfect-gamer Phil Humber of Houston. Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled in another run in the fifth and was brought home by a double by Will Middlebrooks. All in all, it was a rude welcome to the rough and tumble American League East.
