Red Sox Cut Four Pitchers To Pare Down Roster

The Red Sox reduced their roster down to 42 by "reassigning" four pitchers today. The four are: Chris Carpenter, Terry Doyle, Oscar Villarreal, and Chris Hernandez. All were sent to minor league camp. By Opening Day, the team has to reduce the roster down to 25—and, we have been told, it will break down as 13 position players and 12 pitchers. Look for more slashing in the next few days.
