Sox Ink Outfielder Named Hamilton. Calm Down.

Wicked 'Mynah" Moves
The Red Sox made two extremely minor moves today—signing minor league free agents Jonathan Diaz (IF) and Mark Hamilton (OF/1B). Both are in their late twenties and are minor league lifers. In the not-so-subtle vernacular of baseball, these players will add "roster depth" (translation: they will never see Fenway Park). Diaz hit .221 last season and played mostly at shortstop, while Hamilton can play some first base and has some pop. Hamilton is a lefty who has actually played in 47 games in The Show, hitting a robust .197.
