Sox Still On Hamilton, But Must Offer Four Years

And Franco Is Still Dead
According to a report by ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes, while the Red Sox are still in the mix on free-agent Josh Hamilton, "sources" say it's unlikely they'll get him for less than a four-year offer. The Red Sox are reported to have offered a three-year deal in the $25-$30 million dollar per-year range, but the 2010 MVP is seeking six years. Boston will continue to stay on the fringes and pounce if the market forces a reduction of years. One thing the Red Sox brass have been consistent on all off-season is a greater concern with years than dollars.
