Jon Paul Morosi of
FOX Sports conducted
an informal poll of 20 baseball scouts and executives on the changing landscape of the American League East. None of the respondents were affiliated with any of the five AL East teams. The results were fascinating. The Red Sox were the only team to
not receive a single first place vote—and they got six last place votes. The Jays—with their two blockbuster deals in tow—are the favorites to win the division. As Morosi himself points out:
"...how many roster spots are the Red Sox clearly better than the Blue Jays? First base, with Mike Napoli (assuming his deal is completed). Second base, with Dustin Pedroia. Center field, with Jacoby Ellsbury. And that’s about it. The Blue Jays have the better rotation, not to mention a deeper bullpen." 'Nuff ced.
