MLB Using FBI To Profile 'At-Risk' Players

In the wake of the NFL's Jovan Belcher tragedy, Major league Baseball is intensifying its efforts to identify "at-risk" MLB players for early intervention. Information from the recent events is being factored into the MLB program—along with FBI behavioral analyses to better pinpoint those players in need of help. Reports indicate that 80 MLB players or former players have committed suicide—more than two-thirds of those from self-inflicted gunshots.
