Are Red Sox "Bridging" The Gap Again In 2013?

Yet Another Bridge Year?
Red Sox GM Ben Cherington appeared on WEEI's new Thursday night "Hot Stove" show and gave a familiar—though admittedly realistic—assessment of the near future. Said BenCher of "the next great Red Sox team":

"If you lose 93 games, it means you’re a ways away from that team. We feel like we have some of the pieces necessary to be that kind of team... it really means that there’s no overnight fix. We don’t know exactly when that next great Red Sox team is going to crystallize."

At the risk of resuscitating an overused cliche of the past—it sure sounds like Bridge Year Number Four to us.
