Agents Complaining To Sox About Player Roles

Revolt Of The Tin Soldiers
'The Revolt Of The Tin Soldiers' continues. Now, according to ESPN's Buster Olney, certain player agents are complaining to Red Sox management about how their clients are being used by the team. It's assumed that one of these cases is Alfredo Aceves, who was run up to 143 pitches in five days after coming off his 3-game suspension. There's no indication who the other players might be. In Ben Cherington's press conference today, there was a sense that he sympathized with Bobby Valentine's situation—playing out the string with AAA line-ups and pathetic pitching. Interestingly, however, while Bobby V. was not fired today, Cherington (as pointed out by the Providence Journal's Brian MacPherson) did not expressly rule out any such action down the road. As always, stay tuned!
