Sox Choose Podsednik Over Johnny Damon

Podfather II
In a move that can only be described as "painfully irrelevant", the Red Sox re-acquired outfielder Scott Podsednik—who was traded away a few weeks ago to Arizona for Craig Breslow. Scotty Pods refused the D'Backs minor league assignment and was granted free agency—so Boston re-signed the guy who hit .387 in 19 games for the Carmine Hose this year. The 36-year old "Podfather" is a career .281 hitter, with 307 stolen bases. He will join the club immediately and Ryan Kalish will be sent back down to Pawtucket. The other outfield option the Red Sox were considering was Johnny Damon.
