Even 'Pink Hat Nation' Is Starting To Get Nasty

Black September 2011 is rapidly giving way to Black August 2012. With tonight's 7-3 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim And Orange County And California And The US Of A And Planet Earth, your Carmine Hose are now 6-14 for the month. Clay Buchholz had an uncharacteristically bad outing—yielding 7 earned runs in just 5 1/3 innings.

Ryan Lavarnway, Mike Aviles and Scott Podsednik were pretty much the entire offense for the Red Sox during this patented "rocking chair" loss. This is getting ugly fast, folks. The national sports media is now routinely referring to our club as "the fading Red Sox". Even the fake 37,000 plus were starting to get ornery tonight—Pink Hats and all. Even nine watered-down beers can't obscure the realization that you're singing "Sweet Caroline" to a really lousy team.
