Ryan Sweeney Apologizes For Injuring Hand

Dumb Move By Sweeney
UPDATE: Sweeney out eight weeks.
Red Sox outfielder Ryan Sweeney tweeted an apology to the club, his teammates and fans for "losing his cool" and injuring his hand in a fit of rage last night. He stated that the action was not intentional. After being thrown out at first, Sweeney ran down the dugout steps into the clubhouse and slammed his left hand into a door—causing an injury that will be X-rayed today. Clearly, the injury pulled him out of consideration for any trade.
