So much for the recent boomlet that propelled your Boston Red Sox over the mediocre mark. Now, with an excruciating (yet quick) 2-1 loss to the 1983 World Champion Orioles, they are officially hapless again. The immortal Wei-Yin Chen scattered seven hits in a dominant outing, outdueling Josh Beckett for the win.

Beckett had one brain cramp in the sixth, when he gave up three straight hits to lead off the frame—and POOF! there went the 1-0 Red Sox lead. Tell us if you've heard that scenario before. Boston is back in the comfort zone of .500, back in last place alone.
