Sox Draft Pick Denied HS Graduation Perks

Sox Draftee Ty Buttrey
Ty Buttrey, a high school pitcher from North Carolina, was selected by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the MLB Draft (151st overall). He was advised to skip his school's graduation rehearsal to be home in case he was called and drafted. So, he stayed home. And was called. And was drafted. One small problem. The morons who run his high school now say that—since he skipped the rehearsal—he can't walk across the stage to accept his diploma on graduation day. Exceptions to the school's important rehearsal rule "must be reviewed by the principal and decisions shall be made on a case-by-case basis." Unfortunately, so far, this "case" isn't good enough for the knucklehead principal. Probably a Yankee fan.
