Mortensen Brilliant In Red Sox Loss

Morty
Since there's very little else to crow about in the Red Sox 4-1 loss to the lowly A's, we will crow about the stunning performance of new reliever Clayton Mortensen. Clayton Who-Tensen, you say? Among the 347 roster moves the Red Sox made today, apparently one of them was promoting Clayton Mortensen to the bigs. All Morty did (Morty is what we will call him here) is strike out six batters in three innings of relief. What, from a Red Sox reliever? Hey, it's either crow about Morty, or write something profound like: Jarrod Saltalamacchia turned 27 Wednesday. Almost forgot, the really exciting event tonight is that Will Middlebrooks, in his MLB debut, went 2 for 3 with a walk and a double.
