Jackson Jive's Carrie Muskat reports that speculation about the Red Sox landing Cubs 2009 #1 pick Brett Jackson is false. Larry Lucchino has reportedly been playing hardball in his compensation talks with Chicago and asked for the speedy outfielder.

Muskat suggests that the Red Sox lock onto the equivalent of some guy named Kevin Youkilis—the Double A third baseman they offered the A's as compensation for the failed signing of Billy Beane.
