On a cold, drizzly Mother's Day at Fenway Park, the offense was hot—with Michael "Ice Horse" Chavis ending a prolonged slump (0-19) with a 3-5 day and five runs batted in. Multiple hit games were also turned in by: J.D. Martinez (2-4, 2 HRs, 3 Rs, 3 RBIs); Rafael Devers (3-5, 2 Rs, RBI); and Christian Vazquez (2-3, now hitting .278).
