Red Sox Pay Tribute To President George Herbert Walker Bush At His Passing

Upon the passing late last night of the 41st President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, the Red Sox paid tribute with the following: "Today our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bush family. It’s an honor to have known President George H.W. Bush. We’re truly grateful for his long life of service." Given his New England roots, Bush was a Red Sox fan—in additional to being a fan of the Astros in his adopted city of Houston. President Bush presided over the dismantling of the Soviet Union and helped the world transition smoothly into the post-Cold War period of the early 1990s. His was a life of consistent service to America: World War II hero, Congressman, CIA Director, Vice President and President. We have lost a true American hero.
