Once Again, George Steinbrenner Fails To Make It Into Baseball Hall of Fame

For the fourth time, the late Yankee owner George Steinbrenner failed to garner enough votes to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame at Cooperstown, New York. "The Boss" reportedly got fewer than five votes for enshrinement from the 16-member Today’s Game Committee. Both former Red Sox closer Lee Smith (unanimous) and former White Sox DH Harold Baines got the requisite number of votes to be inducted next summer. Maybe Steinbrenner's two suspensions by MLB Commissioners had something to do with the snub. Do you recall the reasons for those suspensions? Well, here you go: 1.) illegal contributions to Richard Nixon’s re-election campaign in 1972; 2.) paying to dig up 'dirt' on his own player Dave Winfield. Nice guy.
