According the MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the free-agent pursuit of right-handed relief pitcher Adam Ottavino may be coming down to the Red Sox, White Sox and Rockies. Morosi cites his sources as thinking these three teams are "showing continued interest" in the former Northeastern University Husky. Ottavino could fit right in ahead of a Craig Kimbrel or David Robertson as the eighth-inning set-up guy that Tyler Thornburg was supposed to be for Boston. And, in a pinch, her certainly has the stuff to close games as well. Last season, the 33-year-old Ottavino went 6-4 with a 2.43 ERA for Colorado—giving up just 41 hits in 77.2 innings pitched. In four seasons at Northeastern (when he was within walking distance to Fenway Park), Ottavino posted a 3.09 ERA—giving up just 197 hits in 253.1 innings pitched. During his time on Huntington Avenue, he became NU's all-time strikeout leader. Stay tuned!
