Christian Vazquez on the 10-day disabled list with a "right fifth finger fracture". They also disabled pitcher
Brian Johnson with "hip inflammation". Pitchers
William Cuevas and
Ryan Brasier were added to the major-league roster from AAA Pawtucket. Presumably,
Blake Swihart will serve as the back-up catcher to
Sandy Leon—negating any short-term trade of Swihart.
