Red Sox Offense Awakens From Doldrums With Two HRs, Beat Orioles, 6-4

Both Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers went "yard" at Camden (see what we did there?) as the Red Sox smacked the lowly Orioles again, 6-4. Devers' shot was a two-run job—his 10th—and put the Red Sox on top for good, 2-1. Benintendi clouted his 12th round-tripper—a solo shot in the third inning. While Raffy and Benny each knocked in two runs, Christian Vazquez also had a good night—going 2-4 with an RBI. The catcher has raised his batting average to .210. Eduardo Rodriguez pitched well—albeit briefly—to gain his 8th win of the season. The lefty went just 5.2 innings—giving up eight hits and two earned runs. Up until getting to closer Craig Kimbrel, the bullpen performed well again. Kimbrel, however, turned a 6-2 cake-walk into a 6-4 cardiac win in the ninth. Bad inning—no save. The Red Sox can complete the sweep of The Birds on Wednesday afternoon in a 3:05 PM Eastern start in Charm City. With The Pinstriped Posers also winning, the two clubs remain in a tie for first-place in the American League East.
