No Donut "Sale"-Abration In Texas, Red Sox Fall Again To Astros, 7-3.

Well, it wasn't a celebration of National Donut Day for Chris Sale. In fact, he actually gave up four juicy jellies on the way to Boston's second consecutive loss in Houston, 7-3. Boston's ace went six innings, yielding six hits and four earned runs—while striking out six. A run-scoring Sale wild pitch didn't help matters. The bottom line is he just was not good enough to beat the World Champs, who held the Red Sox to seven hits—two of them solo HRs by J.D. Martinez and Mitch Moreland. It seems like the Red Sox simply cannot beat this pesky Houston club—during the regular season or the playoffs. With Mookie Betts now officially on the 10-day DL (earliest return next Friday) and Dustin Pedroia's status still in doubt, this team is suddenly reeling. On top of everything, Boston is now just one-half game ahead of The Evil Ones in the AL East.
