In case you haven't noticed, former Red Sox infielder
Jed Lowrie is
raking this year. He has the most hits in the American League (23) and is batting a robust .348 with 4 HRS and 14 RBIs for the Oakland A's. Today, Lowrie turns 34 years-old. He was drafted by Boston in the first round of the 2005 MLB Draft (#45 overall) and played four seasons with
The Carmine Hose. Over that span, Lowrie hit .252 with 19 HRs and 117 RBIs. It was his
versatility, though, that made him a valuable asset during his stay in Boston—playing everywhere in the infield and playing
well. We wish Jed continued success in 2018 (except when playing his old club) and a very happy birthday.
