Bogie Goes Wild: Hits Salami, Drives In Six In 10-3 Red Sox Win Over Rays

Xander Bogaerts is healthy and feeling good—which could be great for the 2018 Red Sox. The Boston shortstop went 2-3 today—including a grand slam and six RBIs—to pace the Red Sox to a 'rocking-chair' 10-3 victory over the Devil Dogs. Rick Porcello had a very shaky first inning (two earned runs), then reverted to his 2016 Cy Young form. The righty went 7.1 innings—giving up three earned runs, striking out seven and walking none. J.D. Martinez got off the proverbial "schnide" with his first HR in a Red Sox uniform—a bullet line drive into the Monster Seats. Rafael Devers also homered and drove in two runs on the day. Marcus Walden mopped up the Rays with 1.2 innings of shutout relief. So far this season, it's Massachusetts 7, Florida 1—as the Red Sox have exclusively played teams from the Sunshine State. That will change on Tuesday as The Bronx Embalmers come to town.
