Is The Núñez Signing The End Of The Brock Holt Era?

MassLive.com's Christopher Smith has an interesting take on the Edurado Núñez signing. Since the Red Sox are not fully committed to Brock Holt's $2.225 arbitration salary until later in Spring Training, might they simply let him go? With no guarantee and with Núñez in camp, Holt might be contemplating the end of his run in Boston. If it does end now, Holt will have been an intriguing—and often very popular— addition to Red Sox teams in the 2013-2017 stretch. In his five years here, Holt has hit .264—but as high as .281 in some years. He's played in 419 games—with his versatility being his greatest asset. He's played every position but pitcher catcher in his Carmine Hose career. If it is the end, it will be a bittersweet parting.
