Extra-Inning Runner On 2B To Be Used In Spring & ASG

(USAToday Sports)
OK, now MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has gone too far. The Associated Press is reporting that Major League Baseball will "experiment" with placing a runner on second base to start extra innings. This will happen in Spring Training this year and in the 2018 All-Star Game. In our view this is beyond "tinkering" with the fringes of the game to speed it up (like a pitch clock and limiting mound visits). This ridiculous proposal fundamentally alters the nature of the game. You know that this "limited" use will eventually be applied to real games. This is a bad idea! Stop it in its tracks now!
