Mookie Betts Wins Second Straight AL RF Gold Glove

Red Sox right-fielder Mookie Betts took home his second straight AL Gold Glove Award last night. Betts was far and away the best at his position in all of MLB—leading the majors with 13.3 Defensive Runs Saved. Only the highly annoying Yasiel Puig was even remotely close to Betts (5.9). Mookie committed just five errors in 2017—compiling a fielding percentage of .987. Mookie is only the second player in Red Sox history to win back-to-back Gold Gloves at 25 or younger—the other being former first-baseman George (Boomer) Scott. He is the seventh Carmine Hoser to win multiple Gold Gloves—joining Scott, Dustin Pedroia, Frank Malzone, Dwight Evans, Carl Yastrzemski and Fred Lynn. Congratulations, Mookie!
