Red Sox Fire John Farrell, New Skipper Search Begins

The Red Sox announced this morning that they have fired manager John Farrell (a move supported by about 55% of FenwayNation readers). In a curiously-worded press release (laden with praise for Farrell's accomplishments), the team never specifies a particular reason for the dismissal. Simply stating that Farrell "will not return" as the 2018 skipper, they also state that the search for a new manager will begin "immediately". Likely candidates are: Jason Varitek, Gary Disarcina, Brad Ausmus and Alex Cora. Stay tuned!
