Evil Ones Fire Manager Girardi After Solid 10-Year Run

For a decade, Yankee manager Joe Girardi has made the best of (until recently) a crap series of rosters handed to him by the dysfunctional Steinbrenner ownership cabal. He has somehow made The Bronx Embalmers competitive nearly every year in the MLB's toughest division—and he even won a World Series Championship in 2009. And, of course, this year (finally with a decent bevy of talented kids), he guided The Pinstriped Posers to within one game of the World Series. Today, he was summarily fired by The Evil Ones. In a communication with WFAN radio, Girardi stated: "With a heavy heart, I come to you because the Yankees have decided not to bring me back." So, John Farrell and Giradi—the skippers who piloted their teams to the #1 and #2 slots in the tough AL East—are out of jobs.
