Pitching And Hitting-Free Sox Get Smoked Again, 7-0

(AP Photo)
Now, they can't pitch or hit. For the second straight day, the Red Sox were humiliated at home by the Orioles, this time shut out, 7-0. Apparently, the new Boston pitching mantra will have to be Fister And Pom And Hop For A Stooaaarm. Eduardo Rodriguez delivered another high-pitch count stinker—going 6.2 innings and coughing up 5 runs (including his obligatory 3-run HR). The "offense" mustered four singles in the loss—which cut the AL East lead to 3.5 games. This race is not over, folks—and a spot in the post-season isn't guaranteed, either. And, with pitching and hitting like this, this team wouldn't last long in October, anyway. No biscuit.
