Frazier To Empire Is Best Red Sox Non-Deal Of The Year

(AP Photo)
We shudder to think what could have been. A trade deadline prospect dump for 3B Todd Frazier—with Rafael Devers consigned to AAA Pawtucket for the rest of 2017. Instead, Dave Dombrowski's failure to get Frazier—and his subsequent landing in the Bronx—is the best non-deal of Double D's tenure on Yawkey Way. In 14 games with The Evil Ones, Frazier is hitting .182 with one HR and four RBIs—down from his "robust" .207 average with The Pale Hose. Frazier, Aaron Judge and Matt Holliday are in a collective hitting slump that has led to a slide out of first place by The Pinstriped Posers. In fact, manager Joe Girardi benched all three "sluggers" in yesterday's 5-1 loss to the Tribe. Sweet.
