28 Of Remaining 43 Red Sox Games Against The AL East

Fully 65.1% of Boston's 43 remaining regular season games will be against their AL East rivals. We could have re-calculated the percentage, taking out tonight's game against the Cardinals—but that would have come out to 66.6% (not exactly the best number combination you could ask for). Of those key 28 contests, 7 are with The Bronx Embalmers, 6 against the Rays, 9 against the Jays and 6 against the Orioles. Thus far, the Red Sox are: 7-3 against Toronto (.700); 7-6 against Tampa (.538); 6-7 against Baltimore (.462) and 5-7 against New York (.417). If these percentages hold for the remaining games against each club, Boston will go 15-13 in these crucial 28 games. Not great, but not disastrous, either. Of course, they are fully capable of doing better than that. How The Carmine Hose fare in these tilts will obviously go a long way toward determining whether they are worthy champs of the division.
