Red Sox Looking At Three Metropolitans To Fill 3B Void

According to Jon Heyman of FanRagSports.com, the Red Sox are looking at trading for one of three New York Mets to fill the black hole at third base. The three are: Asdrubal Cabrera, Wilmer Flores and T.J. Rivera. Flores (age 25) is hitting .278 in 71 games; Cabrera (31) is hitting .247 in 68 games; Rivera (28) is hitting .292 in 66 games. Also under consideration are old friend Jed Lowrie, Josh Harrison and Yangervis Solarte. Lowrie is hitting .267 with 10 HRs over 89 games. Harrison is hitting .272 with 11 HRs in 90 games. Solarte is hitting .268 with 10 HRs for the Padres over 71 games. It's unclear what type of prospect/player packages would be needed for any of these six players. Stay tuned!
