First Place In Red Sox Rearview, Fall Into Second, 4-2

Suddenly, the Red Sox 'juggernaut' to the 2017 playoffs could turn into a treadmill to oblivion. Your second-place Carmine Hose fell again—this time to the streaking Royals, 4-2. Last-minute starter Rick Porcello coughed up two home runs—one a 3-run shot to former Boston trade target Mike Moustakas, and that was all she wrote. Rookie Rafael Devers went 1-4 with a double and newcomer Eduardo Nunez went 2-3—but it was all for naught. The Evil Ones again beat up on the fading Rays and therefore: Hello, second place!
