Ex-Red Sox Bartolo Colón's Next Start Might Be His Last

Per ESPN.com's Marly RiveraBartolo Colón's next start for the Twinkies could be the last of his storied career. Scheduled to take the hill against the Dodgers early next week, the 44-year-old will see how he does in that start before making a decision on retirement. If he does end his career, it will have spanned 20 years and placed him on no less than 10 MLB teams. Big Sexy's one season in Carmine Hose was interesting, indeed. In 2008, he went 4-2 with a 3.92 ERA over seven starts. He started his career with the Indians in 1997 at the age of 24 and ended up winning 75 games for the Tribe over six seasons. In seven post-season series, Colón has posted a more than respectable 3.49 ERA. For years now, his ability to consistently get big-league hitters out has baffled many observers. But the guy could pitch. We will all miss him if he does hang them up next week.
