Back on May 16th, we reported that the Red Sox may be interested in a trade for Chicago White Sox third baseman
Todd Frazier (and possibility also starting pitcher
Jose Quintana). Yesterday,
Boston Globe writer
Nick Cafardo confirmed that Boston has been scouting Frazier and may indeed be interested in a swap. Of course, Frazier is off to a horrific start—hitting .198. But his power stroke (he does have four HRs) is more conducive to Fenway than
Pablo Sandoval's. And, despite the solid defensive play of
Deven Marrero, his low .100s batting average just can't cut it. Frazier is making $12 million in 2017—so any move to Boston would necessitate
The Pale Hose eating some of that exorbitant salary. Stay tuned—this could happen quickly!
