REPORT: Clay Buchholz To Undergo Arm Surgery Today

(USPressWire)
According to Jared Carrabis of BarstoolSports.com, former Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz will undergo surgery today to repair a tear in the flexor pronator mass of his right arm. While this is not as severe as Tommy John surgery (which can take 1 1/2 years to recover from), it looks like Buchholz faces 3-5 months of rehab before he can return. Realistically, this is likely it for the Clay's 2017 season. Clearly, the Phillies' plan to have him perform well in the first half of this season, and then flip him at the trade deadline failed miserably.
