Chris Sale Cashes In First Red Sox Win, Beats Rays, 2-1

(USAToday Sports)
This team still seems like The Raiders Of The Lost Offense—and don't think the absence of David Ortiz is not having an effect on this lineup. The Red Sox "backed" Chris Sale's brilliant seven-inning effort with a solo HR and an RBI groundout en route to a 2-1 victory over Tampa. The tall, thin lefty delivered twelve strikeouts, while yielding just three hits. His ERA is now 1.25. The "offense" was paced by Mitch Moreland (3-4, including the HR and another of his MLB-leading doubles). Matt Barnes and Craig Kimbrel finished off the eighth and ninth, respectively, in clean enough fashion.
