An Open Letter To MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred

Dear Commissioner Manfred: Undoubtedly, you watched last night's WBC game between Puerto Rico and The Kingdom Of The Netherlands. Honestly, the only reason I watched was to make sure that Xander Bogaerts did not get injured (in fact, he was whacked on the back by a pitch). Anyway, through ten innings it was an exciting, well-played 3-3 tie. Clutch HRs, great defensive plays, terrific pitching and managerial strategy. Then, your idea of extra-innings "reform" kicked in. In the 11th inning, runners were placed on first and second at the start of the frame. The Netherlands could not push across a fake "run", but Puerto Rico did in the bottom of the 11th. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. All the great moments that happened before the 11th inning were washed away by this insane perversion of the sport. Hopefully, your "experiment" with this idiocy in the low minors will fail miserably.
