USA Today: Red Sox Will Notch 94 Wins In 2017

After Baseball Prospectus' PECOTA system projected 90 wins for the 2017 Red Sox, USAToday has done them four better. Boston is seen collecting 94 wins by the national paper—winning the AL East over the Toronto Blue Jays by seven full games. The Orioles, Evil Ones and Rays round out the division in that order. Only the Cubbies (99) and Tribe (95) are projected to get more wins than Boston. The paper also thinks The Bronx Embalmers will wind up under .500—with just 80 wins. Now, that's a projection we can warm up to. These projections have the Nationals and Dodgers winning their divisions in the Senior Circuit—as well as the Indians and Astros in the American League. Interestingly, it looks as if the Metropolitans and Giants would end in a dead tie for the two NL Wild Cards, while the Rangers and Blue Jays would meet in the AL "play-in" game as the Wild Card entrants in the Junior Circuit.
