Among the squad are former Red Sox players Ryan Lavarnway and Gabe Kapler—along with current Portland Sea Dog 1B Cody Decker. Durham, New Hampshire native Sam Fuld will also be on the team. This will be Israel's first appearance in the WBC and the first time that Jewish-American baseball players have competed for Israel in an international baseball tournament.
