Red Sox Promote Two More "Old School" Executives

Well, it looks as if the AARP Wing of the Red Sox front office was not just a one-year flirtation. The team announced "bumped-up" titles for two 'old-line' executives today—making both Frank Wren and Allard Baird Senior Vice Presidents of Player Personnel. So now, Dave Dombrowski can gather in a cozy little corner of Yawkey Way and chat with these guys about the good old days—when baseball was baseball.  In a related move, Brain Bannister was promoted to Vice President Pitching Development and Assistant Pitching Coach. On the bright side, the Red Sox also promoted a bunch of people who don't yet get discount tickets at Showcase Cinemas. For example, they made Andover native Gus Quattelbaum Vice President of Professional Scouting. And, they tapped Topsfield native Ben Crockett as Vice President of Player Development.
